Dr. Yaron Simler, CEO
Dr. Yaron Simler joined ConteXtream in July 2009 as its CEO. Prior to joining ConteXtream, he spent three and a half years with Scopus Video Networks (NASDAQ:SCOP) as its President and CEO and a member of its Board of Directors. During his tenure, Scopus became a public company, grew its revenue by 25% annually and was sold to Harmonic (NASDAQ:HLIT) in early 2009. A veteran of the Cable and Satellite industries, Dr. Simler brings to ConteXtream rich multidisciplinary management experience and considerable knowledge and expertise in many aspects of the industry as well as a intimate familiarity with the American and worldwide communication markets.
Prior to Scopus, Dr. Simler was with Harmonic, Inc, (NASDAQ:HLIT) where he served as President of Harmonic Convergent Systems Division. In his 13 years with Harmonic, he has held several positions including Member of Technical Staff, Applications Engineer, International Sales Manager, Director of Applications and Technology and Vice President of Marketing.
Dr. Simler received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He is named on one patent.
Sharon Barkai, Co-Founder
Sharon conceived of and began ConteXtream in 2006 after a career spent founding and managing highly successful technology companies. Before ConteXtream, he was Founder & CEO of Xeround Systems, which, by virtue of its innovative approach to performance and scalability, is a leader in the rapidly growing market for mobile subscriber databases. Prior to Xeround, Sharon was Founder and CEO of Sheer Networks. Sheer Networks developed a highly successful management system for Consumer Broadband networks which was adopted by Tier 1 Operators worldwide. Cisco Systems bought Sheer Networks in 2005. Sharon began his career in Engineering, rising to Director of Engineering at 3Com. He received his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Hebrew University, and an MSc from Colombia.
Eldad Bar-Eli, VP Engineering
As Vice President of Engineering, Eldad is responsible for managing ConteXtream's engineering team and guiding the company's technology development. Eldad joined ConteXtream after having spent eight years at Cisco systems where he was responsible for a series of successful hardware and software projects and where he managed world-wide engineering teams. Eldad joined Cisco Systems as a result of its acquisition of Pentacom, which he co-founded. Prior to Pentacom, Eldad was a technical leader at 3Com where as Project Manager he was responsible for all aspects of the delivery of a key LAN ATM product. Eldad began his career as a software developer, rising rapidly to manage complex projects with a particular emphasis on industry standard platforms and the Linux OS. Eldad has 7 patents with an additional 2 pending, and has worked in multiple industry technical organizations, including making substantial contributions to the ATM Forum LAN Emulation project. He received both his Bachelor of Science degree in Math and Computer Science, and his Master's in Computer Science from Tel Aviv University.
Joel Brand, VP Marketing
Joel Brand is responsible for all aspects of marketing for ConteXtream. For 20 years Joel has actively participated in defining and building infrastructure solutions that enable service providers to introduce network-based value added services to their customers.
Before joining ConteXtream, Joel served as Vice President, Product Management and Marketing at Bytemobile, a leading provider of optimization solutions for wireless operators. Prior to Bytemobile, he was responsible for the service provider business of Ruckus Wireless, an innovator of unique Wi-Fi devices used for multimedia applications by IPTV operators around the world. Joel's experience also includes positions at Tahoe Networks (acquired by Nokia), a developer of edge routing infrastructure for public wireless data networks, where he was Director, Product Management, and Octel Communications (acquired by Lucent Technologies).
Joel holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the Technion - Israeli Institute of Technology and an MBA from National University in San Diego.
Tim Dyer, VP Sales & Business Development
As VP Sales & BD, Tim is responsible for ConteXtream's sales and partnerships with key global players. Prior to joining ConteXtream, Tim was a 6-time WW VP/SVP/GM of sales with revenue responsibility ranging from $0 to $800M and staff responsibility from 6 to 150. As an industry veteran with over 20 years in computer networking, Tim has held Executive and Management positions with Nominum, NetDevices (acquired by Alcatel), Vivace (acquired by Tellabs), Ascend, (acquired by Lucent) and SynOptics (acquired by Wellfleet). Through his career Tim has worked closely with major carriers as they have transformed their networks from legacy TDM to IP. Tim studied telecommunications at Kennedy-Western University.
David Marshall, VP Finance & Operations
As VP Finance and Operations, David is responsible for all financial and administrative aspects of the Company. He joined ConteXtream from TeraChip, where he was responsible for Corporate Finance for this high tech start-up. Prior to TeraChip, David served as Controller and Manager of Business Operations for 3Com's LAN ATM Division. David is a veteran financial manager with almost 25 years of experience in the Field. David gained his Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Massachusetts, Amherst and his MBA from Northeastern University.
Ariel Noy, Chief Technology Officer
Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of ConteXtream, Ariel is responsible for setting the company's technical direction, architecture and for promoting ongoing innovation. Prior to ConteXtream, Ariel was a technical leader at Cisco Systems, which he joined as a result of its acquisition of Sheer Networks, where he was a Co-Founder and VP Engineering. Prior to this, he led the architecture and design of a largescale network management project at 3Com. Ariel holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Math and Computer Science from Tel Aviv University.
Gadi Solomon, Director, Product Management
As Director of Product Management, Gadi Solomon drives ConteXtream's product roadmap and feature content. Prior to joining ConteXtream Gadi was the director for European business at ECI's broadband access division. Earlier he held senior positions at Atrica, a pioneer of Carrier Ethernet solutions for Metropolitan Area Networks, BreezeCOM Ltd, a leader in the Broadband Wireless Access market and 3Com's Network Convergence Division. Gadi has over 15 years of experience in the engineering, marketing and sales of telecommunications products and holds a Bachelor of Applied Sciences from the Engineering Science program at the University of Toronto.
